Create A "Wouldn't It Be Awesome If..." List

Example: Wouldn't It Be Awesome If...

  • I never had to pay for gasoline again
  • College was free (or at least cheaper)
  • I could live closer to my work
  • My landlord would actually send someone to fix my broken stove
  • I never had to fold laundry again
  • etc.

Write all of your ideas down, and keep making bullets until you have a good 10-20 ideas. You aren't worried about good or bad ideas yet. Just generate ideas. You will determine which ideas are good later.

Each bullet in your list is a potential muse idea, including a niche market that you are part of as well as a problem that you could create a product to solve. The next step is to think of products that you could sell for each bullet.
